Multi-Generational Family Home
This Multi-Generational family home is located in Savannah, Georgia. The goal of this project was to create a space that a eight-year-old or an eighty-year-old could live in comfortably. The design style of the house is traditional Southern style. Therefore, the concept object used was a hydrangea flower. The kitchen is large enough for multiple family members to comfortably move around and cook in. A built-in coffee bar, large oven and large refrigerator were requirements for this family.
A fun space in the house is located in the basement. In this space the family needed a homeschool classroom for their three young children. With the concept of Dr. Suess' Cat in the Hat, this space was designed with a child's view in mind. Anthropometrics, unique furniture designs and creative learning spaces were all taken into account whenever creating this space.
